Patents County Court | Hart Brown Blog ? legal news and opinions ...

SMEs will be pleased to know that intellectual property claims will soon become more cost effective.? The Patents County Court will be introducing a new small claims service to deal with claims for damages of up to ?5,000.?The proposed system of fixed costs will ensure that smaller businesses are not put off making claims to enforce their rights against large companies by disproportionate cost.

A date has yet to be fixed for the implementation of the new provisions, but it is hoped that they will be in force before the end of the year.
