NBA Draft Rumors: Kings Considering Terrence Jones At No. 5?

"No. 5? Really?" (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

It's the NBA Draft, and it's the Sacramento Kings, so of course we're talking about players "slotted" for the late lottery potentially getting taken at No. 5! This time it's Terrence Jones of Kentucky, according to Sam Amick of SI.com.

It's a big week for Kentucky forward Terrence Jones, who has been seen as a mid-first-round pick for quite some time but has a chance to move up. It's no secret that the Warriors are considering him (either for No. 7 or if they trade down), and I'm told that Sacramento (No. 5) is very intrigued as well. He'll work out with both teams this week, a source said.

DraftExpress currently has Jones at No. 14. He measured well at the combine, both in height/wingspan (similar to Al Horford and Amar'e Stoudemire, per DX) and weight (he's quite strong). But the knocks on Jones are similar to the concerns about DeMarcus Cousins: he's easily frustrated and takes some attention from the coach. Can Keith Smart spare any more attention?

But if he's the best player, you take him and figure it out. We'll see how his performance in Sacramento shakes out. (And if the Kings can't get him to go up against another potential lottery pick, something is wrong.)
